Jack Gear was up at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester on Monday the 27th May. Was a great day of shows, avoiding the rain! Good work Jack!
The Team was at Cadhay House in Ottery St Mary on the 25th May. Cadhay House is a beatiful estate in the countryside of Devon, where they hold an annual event to raise money for the local Parish Church. It was a great event and we were so lcky with the weather. We had great crowds and really enjoyed putting on a show for the crowds. Joe seddon had a great day, managing to get a static gap of a staggering 3m 18cm!!!
I spent the 8th to the 17th May training in Spain with Rick Koekoek and 12 times world Champion, Cesar Canas. We had a great week in the hills around Barcelona and rode some great natural spots, just check out the shots below! Its great to meet up with other international riders and train together. They also have some great training locations and a relaxed way of life, so its been nice to get away from the hectic show schedule in the UK. Hope you like the photos, Andrei.
On the 19th May, the team were in North Devon putting on a show for the crowds at the Barstable Grand Prix. We had great crowds and the sun was beaming down all day. We also got some great shots from the shows.
On sunday the 5th May, I went up to Bracken Rocks in Derbyshire for the second round of the British Trials Championships. After finishing second in the first round in Surrey I was hoping ofr a better result but with 3 times world champion Jack Carthy riding and it being just a few miles from where he lives and trains I figured it would be a tough day. After a clean on my first section I felt quite positive about the day. The sections proved to be quite long and technical with some pretty big moves too. After my first lap I had just 5 penalty points. Starting my second lap I had a very unfortunate 5 on a section that I had easily cleaned on the first lap but managed to put that behind me and go on to get just two more points through the rest of the competition. The sections were on the whole a good test, but it would have been nice to see a little more varied moves, but I still had a great day and think most people had a great day. I have always been a fan of fair competitions and its good to have a variety of moves and challenges so that the course does not favour any particular rider. Team riders James Davies and Matt Pengelly also came up to the competition accompanied by Andrew McCabe. James had a great ride for his first time on a 24″ bike and placed 2nd in the Expert class. Unfortunately Matt had a problem with his bike and didn’t compete the competition and Andrew won a prize for having the best crash and carrying on! Hope the bruises feel better soon. I would like to say a big well done to all the riders that competed and a huge thanks to the organisers for giving up their time to set up the competition. Now I am looking forward to the next competition in Poland at the end of the month.
On Sunday Jack Gear and Joe Seddon were performing down in Newton Abbot in Devon. Great day of shows and as always the guys put on a great show!
